TIME TO CONFESS YOUR LOVE!!!!

How it works:

Bring back a Melodies character or toss in somebody new! In the ~~second~~ most Final Fantasy scenario ever ~~after 'Crystals did it'~~, you just received a love letter! It's maybe a little vague on who it's for and who it's from, but the details about the meeting place are clear enough!

1. It's a real confession!
Playing it straight (or not so straight, lbr), the message was for you, from someone who LIKE likes you! 0///0 Do you return their affections, or are you going to have to break their hearts??

2. OOPS, It's not for you!
It's sort of a real confession, except those moogles are on strike again, and the message wasn't supposed to come to you! AWKWARD.

It's a joke! Hahahahah, get it! Laugh it off? Get revenge? Who knows!

It's a joke. Just a joke. Hahaha ~~but if you wanted to, maybe it's not really a joke?~~. Just friends bein' friends, pals being pals, absolutely N O U S T here.

[He can't tell if this is genuine or a joke, but this stern little robot is here at the back study room of the library, waiting with a book.]

[HE'S SO HAPPY HE MIGHT CRY! SOMEONE SENT HIM A LOVE LETTER!]

[Get ready to cry some more, because in a classic moogle blunder (or perhaps a poor attempt at matchmaking??), Ovelia's here with a matching letter to the one Okuyasu received. She frowns.]

Excuse me, am I at the right place?

[Okuyasu is a rude boy, but she's willing to give him the benefit of the doubt that this is not as it seems.]

The what?

[He looks up from the park bench, where he's scrolling through this afternoon's meme collection on Mooglr.]

Uh...are you lookin' for someone?

[Ovelia frowns. Manners cost nothing, yet this boy chooses to act as though they were beyond his means.]

Yes, I am. I am certain that this is where I am meant to come. Have you seen anyone else around here?

[She hopes Okuyasu has not scared away her potential suitor with that scowl of his.]

Yeah, you.

[He rolls his eyes. Obviously.]

And some old people.

[The Mognet office is filled with a terrified silence, as the hulking figure steps through the door, clad in canary yellow armor and clutching an envelope between finger and thumb. He stares at the queue formed at the counter, and dutifully steps into line behind the last person, staring down at the unfortunate individual with an expression that could be, charitably, described as 'stony'.]

...Holy f why is this guy staring at me.

[Please, somebody torment this tired lesbian.]

[Someone sent her a love letter despite being married. Depending on who it is she might have to break it to them gently or she'll get very very angry.]

( oh no. where had she put that damnable letter?!
sorry corrin, but you have one (1) radical dreamer who is frantically pulling apart couch cushions and bookshelves in your home [this is your fault for her always being welcome here], looking for something that definitely has her worked up. )

No way— no way it's gone, what the HELL!

( oh my dragon gods, just imagining it winding up in the wrong hands is enough to make a grown thief cry! )

"What have you lost?" Corrin asks from the entry to the living room, holding a tray of drinks and snacks for them to share that she's been preparing.

[The counter. Kid left it on the counter in the kitchen, probably whilst on an earlier snack run. Unfortunately, Corrin thought it might have been a message from Nozomi, opened it up, and well...Kid's handwriting could use some work but she got the gist of it before she folded it back up and inserted it under the plate holding Kid's sandwich. She's proud of Kid for being so bold (not that Kid isn't bold as a matter of course, but this is far outside her usual comfort zone, which is saying something) and "going for it" as it were, but that doesn't mean she's excused a little light teasing.]

She enters the room and sets the tray down on the table. Oh boy, her living room is a mess. There's some tidying in her future, to be sure. "You want some help looking?" She offers, knowing full well Kid is likely to refuse the offer, given the nature of the missing item. "Deep breaths, Kid. Relax."

[Oh dear, oh dear, this is not what Ovelia planned. She paces back and forth nervously, waiting for Corrin. That letter, that darned first draft... she hadn't meant for it to ever reach Corrin's eyes. She'd only meant to write a letter thanking her for being such a dear, kind friend to Ovelia... but when she'd finished it and looked it back over, it read more like a confession of feelings. She'd taken a walk to clear her head, and when she'd come back, her over-eager moogle had already rushed off to deliver it.

So now she's waiting in the Curti Center garden, hoping she hasn't mortally offended one of her dearest friends.]

"Hey, Ovelia!" Corrin steps lightly as ever into the garden, waving to the young woman as she does so. Her smile and demeanour suggest good cheer, and not offense as the Ivalician had feared.

"I got your letter, and it reminded me it's been too long since we spent any time together, so I thought I'd stop by." She explains as she approaches. "I thought I might join you for a bit. Hey..." She stops, looking concerned; Ovelia is clearly worried about something. "Everything all right?"

Ovelia looks up sharply as Corrin calls out her greeting. Her friend does not appear disturbed, except for the worry in her voice about Ovelia's state.

She summons up a smile. "O-of course. It is lovely to see you. I've missed our visits with one another."

It soothes some of her anxiety, to see Corrin's smile. Ovelia rises and gestures to garden path.

"Have you time enough to spare for a walk? I never tire of seeing the flowers in bloom."

Corrin nods. "Mmm! Me too. I'm glad you reached out." And it was a lovely letter; Ovelia spoke quite plainly about how much Corrin had come to mean to her and how much she appreciated their friendship; it was hard not to feel humbled by it. "We need to make these visits a more regular thing, I don't want us to lose touch."

Corrin follows her gesture down the path. "For you? Always." She agrees, turning back with a smile. She offers Ovelia her hand as they walk; Corrin has never been shy when it comes to showing affection for her friends. Why not hold hands? "Next time, I'll have to host you. Nakagawa is beautiful right now, and it's such an easy walk to the country, you'd love it. Shall we, my lady?"

Whatever's bothering Ovelia, perhaps this will help her relax and take her mind off it. If Corrin can help, she'd be glad to do so.

Oh, if only Corrin knew how she simultaneously distracts Ovelia yet adds to her anxiety. Such a small thing, to hold another's hand in her own, yet even such brief, innocent touches were denied her for so long. Every fiber of Ovelia's being is aware of just how warm Corrin's hand is, how soft her skin, even in spite of the callouses that come of wielding a blade.

Corrin is easy with affection, both spoken and tactile, and Ovelia feels her pulse quicken as her friend guides her along the path.

"I... I would love that. I always forget that I am at liberty to travel now. I should venture out more often than I have. There's barely any danger to it anymore."

Oblivious for the moment of the role she is unwittingly playing in Ovelia's distress, Corrin continues down the path with her, hand-in-hand. She gives it a reassuring squeeze, and another smile.

Ah yes, that particular issue. Corrin remembers it well. "It was the same with me after I was released from the Northern Fortresss." She replies. Not that a war made it easy to travel, per se. "All these places I'd read or heard about and wanted to go...it was almost paralyzing, trying to figure out where I wanted to go first." She laughs lightly. "Silas actually helped me put together a list of places from when we were children that I'd said I wanted to visit when I was finally able." Of course, not all of them were "places" in the strictest sense of the word. "Festival" and "Bugs" had been on the list, after all.

"One of the things that helped bring us closer together, if I'm being honest." She says fondly. "Maybe you could write up a similar list? If you're anything like me there must have been no shortage of places you dreamed of visiting."

A faint smile touches Ovelia's lips.

"Yes, I wanted to see everything. All of Ivalice. All of Vaikuntha, too, now that peace has been restored. It just feels so vast. I have no idea where to start."

But here beside her is Corrin, who is so brave and warm and fond. With her hand laced with Corrin's, Ovelia feels as if she can borrow some of that bravery.

"Perhaps you are my answer. I'll start by visiting your home. Once I've gone to one new place, I am certain I can manage a second."

She doesn't expect to snowball into a world traveler, but she will allow herself little milestones, in hopes that achieving them will spur her on to more ambitious goals.

[A love letter? Really?!

Was his romantic luck finally starting to turn around?!]

[Finally. Okuyasu has worked up the courage to finally do it. He's going to confess. Sure, Kid is one of the rougher girls he's known in his life, but she's cute and that's what really matters. Cute and would totally like a tough guy like him.

So he waits in the ice cream shop, looking out the window every five seconds.]

( kid had no idea why he'd called her out here today, but hey, free ice cream, right? at least she assumed it would be free seeing as how he'd wanted her to come so bad. maybe they had a new flavour or he neeed a lookout to help himself to extra sprinkles or something...
either way, she arrives without much fuss, finding his table with a wave. )

Oi, there y'are mate. What'sa matter, sweet tooth got the better of ya?

[All of the above is true. They have blueberry and cream flavor on special, and someone has to keep watch while he uses The Hand to grab sprinkles while the attendant isn't looking.

But the important reason is something else. Okuyasu grips the edge of the table and breathes heavily.]

Yeah. [He glances at the serving counter. First, some encouragement.] Wanna get some extra scoops with my Stand?

[ Kenichi figures this is what he gets for not disclosing he's married and while it's an open one, he's not sure about this at all. ]

[She can be the recipient or the sender]

[If you want to inflict your characters to harassment-by-octopus, comment here. And may Bahamut have mercy on your souls.]

[It's a beautiful setting for a love confession. A pathway winding around a pond in the park, flowering trees in bloom, the sun almost setting, a slight fishy smell on the breeze...

And just as planned, here's one Jedi, coming down to meet him. Perfect.

The pond is still and serene until Finn gets close, then suddenly...]

[With a splash, Ultros pops out of the water, tentacles waving with excitement.]

[ Finn definitely does not give an undignified, unmanly shriek of pure terror. It's not entirely because of the jump scare either, considering what it actually is. ]

Ah- Ultros! Hey! Hi! How did you find me?

[ Just... staying out of the way of those tentacles, thx. ]

[Better get ready to dodge, then, because Ultros is trying desperately to give Finn a loving tentacle caress.]

I CAN ALWAYS SENSE WHEN HOTTIES ARE NEAR! IT'S MY SEA-UPER POWER!! GWEE HEE HEE HEE!

[He doesn't have lips, but his fanged mouth still tries making a kissy-face at the poor, poor boy.]

[ You know, there was a point in time when Finn thought that maybe he missed Ultros. That-... Yeah, he was wrong. And he's definitely dodging. ]

I- I appreciate the compliment. [ He's scrambled far enough away to be, temporarily, out of reach, too. ] But I- I mean- It's been awhile. Shouldn't we talk first?

YOU WANNA TALK?? UWU!

[He twists two tentacles together beside his face and actually says the word 'UWU'. He's not getting told to scram! That's basically a love confession in his slimy eyes!!]

Whatcha been up to? Tell Ultros allllllll about it!
